Málaga is a coastal city that offers a wide range of services and where tourism is increasingly present. Its beaches, towns, and infrastructures are highly visited. In Málaga, the good weather makes it very favorable for tourism to be present all year round. Therefore, it is very tempting to want to access a home in this province. Its appeal and service portfolio make Málaga an ideal city to attract residents.
However, renting in Málaga is becoming more expensive, with the average price nearing €11/m2.
Renting an 85 m2 apartment could cost us up to €935/month on average, but it will depend on the area and the property, although in most neighborhoods, prices have risen by 24% in a year.

What is causing this increase? Job insecurity and the difficulty of accessing a mortgage due to lack of liquidity or increasingly strict requirements from financial institutions have led to an increase in rental demand, causing prices to rise.
According to the State report of the 'Rental Index', the number of rental homes in 2020, the most recent data published, was 57,720 homes, of which 7,890 refer to single-family homes and 49,830 to collective homes (apartments, flats, etc.). In 2015, the number was 34,675 rented homes, so in 5 years, the number of rented homes has increased significantly (data obtained from declared rentals).
Still, we can find areas in Málaga where the average rent is still below €10/m2, such as in Campanillas.
