The Málaga capital is advancing to promote the construction of the first phase of the neighborhood called: "The Green Block". This eco-neighborhood is an initiative included in the Special Plan for Interior Reform Green Block, which was promoted in 2011 and now continues its march to introduce a new urban model in the city, more sustainable and social.
The Málaga City Council has tendered the drafting of the geotechnical project amounting to 85,581.6 Euros (VAT included), with an execution period of 2 months. Interested companies have until December 9 to apply and submit their offer.
The area where the action will take place is referred to in the PGOU of Málaga as SUNC-R-P-2 Camino de San Rafael, which has an area of 24,237.32 square meters
This project aims to renew the urban structure of cities and was born as a pilot project of the European program CAT-MED (Changing Mediterranean Metropolises over Time), coordinated by the Urban Environment Observatory OMAU, the Municipal Urban Planning Management, and the Municipal Housing Institute (IMV).
Málaga leads the CAT-MED project along with 10 other cities in the European Union (Barcelona, Valencia, Seville, Rome, Turin, Genoa, Marseille, Aix-en-Provence, Athens, and Thessaloniki).
This project, which was presented in May 2009 in Málaga, promotes green blocks where metropolitan strategies converge at a transnational level with proposals for actions aimed at integrating territorial, environmental, economic, and social factors.
