The Minister of Economy, Finance and European Funds, Carolina España, has been appointed this Monday as president of Málaga TechPark, which held a General Shareholders' Meeting and a Board of Directors to appoint the new positions that join it.
Carolina España referred to Málaga TechPark as the "flagship of the Málaga and Andalusian economy, an example of an innovation space that generates synergies and attracts investments, an innovative ecosystem that has not stopped growing since its inauguration."

The minister has insisted that the Málaga technological park, which celebrates 30 years as a benchmark for economic development in Andalucía, has an economic impact of 1.75% of the Andalusian GDP and 8.65% in the province of Málaga, according to a report conducted by the park on the direct and indirect economic impact of the park.
The contribution of the Technological Park of Andalucía (PTA) to the overall Andalusian economy and its employment is also notable, contributing with 1.75% of the regional GDP and 1.81% of employment. The evolution of the PTA and its overwhelming growth is more palpable if one remembers that in the year 2000 it only contributed 0.38% of the Andalusian GDP and in 2008 it was at 1.13%. All the variables considered indicate that the venue has multiplied its weight eightfold since its inception in 1992, points out the study conducted by Málaga TechPark, which highlights the dimension achieved, considering that the park only brings together 0.12% of the companies in Andalucía.
