Juanma Moreno, the president of the Andalusian government, has announced that he will eliminate the wealth tax starting in 2023 and a deflation of the income tax with immediate effect in 2022.
With these measures, it aims to bring Andalusia closer to the Community of Madrid in terms of low tax pressure, thus placing Andalusia in second place regarding the lowest taxes.
Juanma Moreno explains that the objective of the measures is to alleviate the economic burden on middle-class families and SMEs and attract investors to Andalusia.
He states that this measure will increase income tax contributions by encouraging more incomes to establish their residence in Andalusia. Since out of every 20 taxpayers, 10 left Andalusia due to high tax payments.
The elimination of the wealth tax will not result in a loss in Andalusia's accounts because it only accounts for 0.6% of the revenue collected. And it will not have repercussions because it will increase the revenue collected from the income tax.
Juanma Moreno refers to the fact that his sixth tax cut approved this Tuesday will have an impact of 360 million euros on the economy of the Andalusians, helping them cope with inflation.
