The award-winning Heatherwick Studio has just opened the public park of Little Island in New York and is developing Google headquarters in London and Silicon Valley.
The project, which will have a surface area of 15,000 m2, is located next to El Corte Inglés of Castellana. Demonstrating a solid commitment to the environment and the belief that great design makes cities more livable, Castellana 69 promotes sustainability both socially and environmentally. This is reflected in the innovative façade and the central "green heart," consisting of a courtyard inside the building. This approach is expanded with the choice of sustainable materials, advanced technology, and the use of natural resources.
The Heatherwick studio sand identifies with projects that have a lasting and positive impact on the city. The interest in the emotional connection between people and places is a factor that often loses importance in contemporary architecture. In the words of Thomas Heatherwick himself "It is exciting for my studio to build our first project in Spain. Castellana 69 is an exciting opportunity to move away from the formality and rigidity of many modern office buildings and develop a more humanized workspace that, at the same time, prioritizes social and environmental sustainability. We are proud to have El Corte Inglés as a client, and we share their commitment to making cities greener and more people-centered.""
