The city of Malaga has an international airport, the largest in Andalusia, with national and international air connections. Malaga Airport is located about 8 km from Malaga city center and about 50 km east of Marbella. From the airport there are good connections to the A-7 highway, which goes to Malaga and also connects with other cities such as Almeria or Seville (A-45 and A-92).
From the airport there are direct buses to the city of Malaga and other places in the province, such as Marbella and Fuengirola. There are also trains (RENFE Cercanías service) from the airport to Malaga train station.
From this airport can be reached on board companies such as Iberia, Vueling, Air Europa or Ryanair. Since June 2011 it is called Malaga - Costa del Sol Airport.
Malaga Airport has two terminals, Terminal 1 is the largest terminal and is dedicated to international traffic. Terminal 2 is much smaller and is dedicated to domestic and international traffic. Malaga Airport has three terminals connected to each other (T1, T2 and T3), so that all of them are integrated under the concept of a single terminal. There are a good number of stores in both terminals, as well as restaurants and bars. There are also tourist information offices in the airport terminals.
From Malaga Airport you can reach the city center by bus, train, cab or car. By bus it can be done through the Municipal Transport Company (EMT), which offers a line: Line A (Paseo del Parque - Malaga Airport).
To get around by cab, the ideal is to go to the cab stand next to the airport terminal or if you want to take an UBER through previous requests through mobile applications. By car rental companies offer services both inside and outside the airport.
